PORTER ON BALLOT FOR SECRETARY OF STATE RACE

Des Moines, IA — On Tuesday, Jake Porter successfully filed the
necessary 1,500 valid petition signatures to get his name placed on
the November ballot for the Iowa general election race for Secretary
of State.

Porter, 22, is a former member of the Libertarian National Committee
and lives in Des Moines. Porter has promised to cut the Secretary of
State’s pay in half by more than $50,000 a year if elected and
recently received 8% of the vote in the Johnson County mock election.

Porter faces Democrat Michael Mauro and Republican Matt Schultz in the
November election. He’s the nominee of the Libertarian Party, Iowa’s
third largest political party.
